Mother Nature Project - Bristol

The Mother Nature Project, part of the Bristol, North Somerset & South Gloucestershire GSP project, is an example of cross-sector partnership working and attracting funding from ICBs for nature-based interventions.

The programme supports mother and babies to connect with nature and early feedback has been very positive including initial data. The project is a partnership between Bristol Refugees Council, Bluebell Trust, Avon Wiltshire Partnership and Bristol Uni and Lucy Duggan as an Eco Therapist.

After an initial pilot, ICB Maternity Programme is now funding the original area (inner city Bristol) and extending funding to South Bristol and Weston Super Mare. It is hoped the programme will go forward for a feasibility study for a Randomised Control Trial and then, subject to funding, a full RCT.
